‘The Pilgrim’ is a beautifully refined climbing rose with large, many-petalled blooms in a soft, buttery yellow that fades gently toward the edges. The buds open into rounded cups and mature into flat rosettes with a delicate, textured look. Its medium-strength fragrance is an elegant blend of Tea and myrrh.
This variety is vigorous and healthy, climbing to around 12 feet while still producing blooms and foliage closer to the ground. A continual bloomer from late spring through fall, ‘The Pilgrim’ is well-suited to the Pacific Northwest and thrives on fences, walls, and other vertical features. Named after the pilgrims in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, it’s as literary as it is lovely.
