DESCRIPTION:
A bold tropical vine with brilliant color for sunny patios, containers, and garden displays. Purple Queen® Bougainvillea produces rich, deep purple papery bracts over deep green foliage, creating the electric tropical look bougainvillea is known for. This compact, spreading variety can be trained on a trellis, arbor, or fence, or grown in a large container where it can drape beautifully over the edges.
To overwinter, containerize your Bougainvillea and encourage it to go dormant by placing it in a cool location like a garage, shed, or basement with a window. Prune it back to reduce the volume of the plant and reduce water. Wait until Spring and start watering more regularly to encourage the plant to break dormancy and wake up again.
